Strait Turners Woodturning Club
Welcome to Strait Turners, a Chapter of the American Association of Woodturneres, established in 2016 on the Strait of Juan de Fuca in the North Olympic Peninsula.
The club’s purpose is to inspire, educate and support its members with regard to woodturning as a traditional and contemporary craft and art form. Further, it wishes to foster a wider understanding and appreciation of woodturning among turners and the general public. The plan is that the education experience occurs in an enjoyable social forum.
In addition to discussion of current or future activities for turners, Strait Turners meetings include Show and Tell from members’ recent turnings. This is an excellent opportunity for all members to closely observe what others are turning and to question aspects of the turning. We also have an auction of wood donated by members each month. Proceeds from this go toward demonstrations and equipment needed for the club.
